Our residential design philosophy

At the heart of our philosophy is the creation of places that we’d be proud to call home, as distinctive, diverse and unique as the communities we serve. 

Our team combines a breadth of knowledge across the residential sector, be it new build, adaptive re-use, modular, high-rise, built-to-rent or purpose-built student accommodation through to masterplanning new communities.

From a team with over 100 years of combined experience in designing and delivering residential projects, we shape our project teams to align with our clients needs and aspirations.

We pride ourselves on the commerciality of our designs which seek to push the art of the possible within the realities of budget and timelines. 

Realising profitable design concepts, fostering positive engagement with planning and delivering live projects on time and on budget form the foundations of our residential designs.

Our team also help clients improve the commercial viability of their existing design proposals by way of independent peer reviews, post planning analysis and optimisation exercises.

Breathing new life into an iconic heritage landscape

The nationally significant buildings and landscape of Craighouse Campus, some dating back to 1528, are being given a sustainable future through a masterplan which sees the conversion of seven Category A listed buildings into a bespoke, luxury residential development featuring sixty-four homes alongside new residencies. 

The highly sensitive restoration project has seen extensive collaboration with Historic Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage, Architecture & Design Scotland and The City of Edinburgh Council, to create a wide range of exceptional apartments, complemented by contemporary new residential buildings.

Through a careful balance of conservation and design innovation, every property offers a bespoke combination of heritage and contemporary luxury.
