As lead for our growing Glasgow office, Andrew brings a strong technical knowledge and rigorous approach to design, detailing and contract administration to his work. His experience spans a wide range of sectors including science and technology, residential, education and healthcare where he leads a number of notable projects. Andrew particularly enjoys the challenges associated with complex and highly serviced developments.

Andrew is our Partner lead for all things Financial and Commercial.  Since joining the practice in 2016, he has built clear and effective reporting systems with robust financial management structures in place which are now managed by a strong finance team under his direction. Andrew provides strategic direction and advice on all financial matters, helping to navigate the continuing challenges and opportunities of a growing business.

Andrew is Partner lead for our Residential and Masterplanning & Placemaking portfolios.  His work is centred around the philosophy of contributing to the greater good through the wider public realm, with a diverse range of projects across refurbishment, conservation, high density urban realm and mixed-use development. As our Design lead, Andrew’s design and management skills have secured multiple awards including the inaugural RIAS Presidents Medal for Placemaking.

As an Associate and our Interiors lead, Bikem is a highly dynamic and creative architect. She is a dedicated and conscientious worker with demonstrable design flair, a keen eye for detail, technical awareness and proficiency in graphics and presentational outputs. With experience of both new build and the refurbishment and repurposing of existing buildings, Bikem has particular experience in office and retail interior fit-outs.

Catriona is our Partner lead for the north and leads our Civic, Community and Arts sector.  Catriona is currently the President of the Highlands & Islands Architectural Association which is the northern chapter of RIAS. Catriona is a highly experienced architect in the areas of arts buildings, adaptive reuse and community projects, with particular experience in projects which involve third sector clients, extensive community liaison and stakeholder engagement.

Charles is one of our most senior and experienced architects with over forty years of professional practice experience and is an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPS). Charles is able to draw on his experience of handling complex, highly serviced, refurbishment projects within ‘live’ campus environments, providing proactive insight into health and safety matters that could affect the design, construction or future operation of a completed project.

Chris is a member of our Science and Technology team, working on projects including a research facility which combines offices, laboratories and support facilities. He brings a wealth of insights from across a range of sectors including urban regeneration, conservation, residential, masterplanning, education, leisure and workplaces. Additionally, Chris has successfully managed all stages of the design and construction process including contract administration.

Dip ArchEng MArch, RIAS

Dafne leads our Visualisation service, having built a strong and highly capable team. She works closely with clients to realise how visuals can add value to their projects by conveying initial design intent and technical design detail. As a talented designer with exceptionally strong Revit skills, she creates stunning 3D visuals of projects as well as rendered images and videos using a variety of state of the art software.

David plays a central role in our Education sector work and leads our portfolio across Leisure and Custodial and Justice. With exceptionally strong design, technical and organisational skills, he has been pivotal in several notable projects including Scotland’s first inland surf destination with Lost Shore Surf Resort. David has a proactive and constructive working style, particularly valuable when working with stakeholders at the initial briefing and consultation stages.

Donald is a member of our Residential team with a passion for creating high-quality places that maximise the potential of their location, bringing real value to clients and the communities they serve. He has specialist experience across the full spectrum of residential architecture, from bespoke small scale developments to strategic masterplanning, including working with developers in the Modern Methods of Construction sector.

Gillian leads our portfolio of work in the Science and Technology sector across Scotland. She has played a key role in several major complex laboratory fit-outs and alteration projects, consistently demonstrating her first class design and technical skills. Gillian has a natural ability to motivate her teams to ensure a full coordinated and cohesive process built around open communication.

Jeannine co-leads our Science & Technology portfolio in the south east, and is our Oxford studio lead, where she has cultivated a strong team. With a wealth of experience as a project architect, she has led and delivered new build projects and refurbishments in the Science & Technology, Education and Healthcare sectors. Jeannine excels in the early briefing and concept stages of a project and always strives for sustainable solutions.

Katharine is our Partner lead for Operations and Marketing, and leads our business support team. Initially focused on bid management, her role swiftly expanded to encompass broad business development and strategy. Drawing from her diverse career, including experience in financial services, Katharine has a natural ability to bring a real-world perspective and commercial acumen which are crucial to our continued growth and success.

Les joined us following the merger with Leslie Hutt Architects in 2023, with an extensive portfolio of clients across the north of Scotland and Western Isles. His portfolio includes a range of private and social housing, hotel, leisure and commercial developments and more recently the award winning HydroNess project. Les is an active lead in the Highlands and Islands Architectural Association and is an accredited Principal Designer.

Mark is a highly experienced Architect who leads our BIM management service, certified to BSI ‘19650 Project Professional’ standards. With vast experience in the implementation of BIM Level 2 across a range of sectors, he has used Revit to maximise the efficiency of a range of digital tools in designing from tender to construction. This allows Mark to holistically improve the process of building design and management. Mark is a BSI BIM Certified Professional.

Mark oversees multiple sectors with particular expertise in design for preventative healthcare, science, and creating sustainable communities. With a passion for placemaking and human centric design, many of Mark's projects have been recognised with design awards, including for new healthcare building design and in recognition of his approach to solving complex designs in live operational environments.

Mark has over ten years dedicated healthcare experience. He has a particular focus on multi-department, complex refurbishments within live acute hospital environments as well as having led projects across other sectors including education and social care. Mark’s strength is in clinical stakeholder engagement and negotiating competing project requirements, skills which are highly regarded by his clients.

Nick leads our growth across the south east region with particular focus on the science and technology sector, bringing extensive experience in the design and delivery of laboratory environments. He plays a crucial role in advocating innovative and sustainable design in science and technology. Nick’s core operating principle revolves around listening to clients, a crucial skill as he drives growth through cross sector collaboration.

Paul is our Partner lead for Healthcare and Sustainability and is passionate about good design which simplifies the complex to provide sustainable, patient centred solutions. He was project architect for the highly acclaimed Stratheden Hospital, regarded as an exemplary model for mental health design due to its significant impact on patient care and recovery. Paul is a member of Architects for Health and has completed a masters in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies.

As Managing Partner, Phil leads the growth and direction of the Practice and is Partner lead for our Science and Technology as well as Education sectors. He has extensive experience leading wide-ranging multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects from small laboratory refurbishments to large scale masterplans and new build state-of-the-art research facilities. As collaboration is at the heart of Phil's ethos, he helps lead our involvement within the IDeA network - a global alliance of like-minded architecture practices. Phil sits on the Regional Board of Borders College and on the Board of Governors of St Mary’s School in the Scottish Borders. He is also a member of I2SL and a Board Member of UKSPA.

Samantha is a Passivhaus Certified Architect and is passionate about creating sustainable buildings. She leads our sustainability portfolio and provides consultancy to our clients, engaging from the start of a project to help them achieve their carbon reduction targets. She has experience leading an array of large scale projects and as an adaptable team player excels when thinking on her feet. Sam is a board member for Architecture & Design Scotland, is a Principal Designer and AECB CarbonLite Retrofit certified.

As a key member of our Residential team, Sheona brings significant experience in a wide range of residential typologies with particular expertise in high-rise and mixed-use masterplans. She has been pivotal in a number of award winning projects including a scheme heralded as innovative in its ability to help transform the delivery of social and employment infrastructure as part of a mixed-use development.

Steve is Partner lead for our portfolio of work across multiple sectors including Science & Technology, Retail & Hospitality, Industrial & Agriculture and our Workplaces & Interiors team. His strong organisational and motivational skills, coupled with excellent analytical and technical expertise means he delivers the most complex and demanding projects on time and within budget. It is this combined with his careful and attentive approach to innovation design that results in long standing client relationships.
