Read more about the projectThese two new awards add to a fantastic run of recognition for the development in Aberdeen which is paving the way as an exemplar for affordable housing design.
Tillydrone’s ongoing success can be attributed to its ‘build more for less’ design philosophy, which saw an ambitious and rigorous list of sustainability targets being met within a tight project budget, all contributing to lower and affordable running costs for residents.
These seventy new homes have contributed to the acute need for affordable and adaptable homes within the city of Aberdeen, offering whole-of-life adaptable accommodation for later living and residents living with dementia.

This was a quietly brilliant scheme. The emphasis on affordable dignity was clear, creating homes that are healthy, comfortable and flexible. They showcased holistic design thinking, community focused delivery and a low carbon performance.

Design has been shaped by comprehensive consultation with a wide range of stakeholders”

Tillydrone's sustainable homes are promoting wellness and sociability, supporting occupants to stay in their homes for longer and enhancing communities, all while being cost efficient.
The design provides a model for healthy, sustainable living across the UK, representing a positive shift in the standards of affordable housing undertaken by local authorities and contractors. We are incredibly proud of this project and everyone involved. Congratulations to all!
