NCH Action for Children, Haddington
Oberlanders have completed several respite care homes for NHS at NCH have commissioned Oberlanders on both new build and conversion work for care centres of various types including specialist accommodation for respite care and supported accommodation for young homeless persons.
Typically the units are sited in residential areas and deliberately domestic and low-key in style to provide a ‘familiar’ and comfortable environment for the children in care.
The images here are of the young persons supported accommodation in Haddington, East Lothian. Completed in Mid 2002 the centre was constructed in a conservation area amid tight planning restrictions and consists of supervised accommodation for 8 young people, a unit for ‘independent’ living and a support office.
