Heba Centre Western General Hospital, Edinburgh
The HEBA Prostate Cancer Centre is the first dedicated facility in Scotland for the treatment of prostate cancer and is linked to the Oncology Department of Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital.Consulting rooms and offices are situated around a large central top-lit waiting area which has access to a semi enclosed courtyard. The use of brick and cast stone externally is intended to reference existing neighbouring buildings.
The principle objective was to create a more humane and less clinical environment for the treatment of patients with a particularly distressing disease.
Construction work on the £500,000 project was completed in September 2002 and the centre was opened in early 2003.
Oberlanders have worked with the various Lothian Health Board NHS Trusts on a regular basis since 1983 and currently have a term consultancy. The HEBA Centre is a typical example from our extensive Health Care portfolio.
