Pentlands Science Park, Edinburgh
Extending to over 130 acres The Pentlands Science Park comprises the only Science park in Europe to specialise in animal health & welfare. With a total construction value of £30M the Science Park provides the Moredun Foundation and associated companies with a centre of excellence committed to the care and welfare of a wide range of animals.
Oberlanders were first appointed in 1993 to produce a master plan and detailed building designs. The project was jointly funded by the Moredun Foundation, Lothian & Edinburgh Enterprise Limited, The European Community and the Scottish Office and was completed in 1998.
The buildings, set together in a rural landscape, won the Association for the Protection of Rural Scotland Award and a commendation in the RIAS Regeneration of Scotland Awards 1998.
