SRUC Animal Disease Surveillance and Research Centre Officially Opens

The £1.6m Animal Disease Surveillance and Research Centre for SRUC has been officially opened. The facility will enable SRUC to continue their work providing efficient disease surveillance diagnostics services for the agricultural sector throughout Scotland.

The laboratory is located within Oberlanders’ designed Moredun Research Institute/Pentlands Science Park near Penicuik in Midlothian.  The project involved significant refurbishment and remodelling of original laboratory space and therefore required extensive coordination of existing and proposed building services in order to allow Moredun to continue operating with minimal downtime to existing research activities.
