David graduated in 1976 from Edinburgh college of Art and Heriot-Watt University with a First Class Honours Degree concluding a highly successful academic career which saw him win The JR Mackay Medal, The Edinburgh Civic Medal and several travel scholarships. He co-founded Oberlanders Architects in 1983 and has helped to steer its course since then.
He has considerable experience with complex, high value and highly serviced projects, being solely responsible for major projects such as the Syntex Research Centre and the award winning Pentlands Science Park amongst others.
He was appointed as a Fellow to The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland in 2000.
