Our Story

1980s 1990s 2000s now

In 2004 Oberlanders together with Grosvenor, AMA and RBS won a joint venture competitive bid to Scottish and Newcastle for an 8 acre brewery site at Fountainbridge in Edinburgh. Consequently the Practice is now actively involved with the creation of a new urban village, called Springside. This incorporates student housing, offices, retail leisure and up to 650 residential flats. The current proposals have a combined value of approximately £120 million. The first phase of the development (contract value £40 m) completes on a rolling programme from 2009 - 2010.

In 2008, Oberlanders completed 25 years of service to our Clients. We celebrated this milestone by purchasing and relocating to new premises at 16 Melville Street, Edinburgh. These premises will allow us to continue our expansion plans into the next decade and beyond. In 2009 major projects are underway at Strathallan School in Perthshire, for NHS Lothian, The Universities of Dundee and Edinburgh, in addition to our continuing work at Springside. We have major developments in the feasibility and planning stages, which will be posted on this site as the work progresses.
