Our Story

The continuing expansion of the practice saw Oberlanders relocate in 1999 to new premises in George Street. The firm re-branded as Oberlanders Architects, finally becoming an LLP in August 2005.
Ian Low retired in 2003, with Philip Macdonald & Andrew Wilmot being made Partners in 2003 & 2005 respectively.
Bio-technology commissions continued with the Practice assisting Grosvenor to develop The Edinburgh Technopole and Scottish Enterprise with the design of a £25m multi-occupancy laboratory on a new Medi-Park to the South of Edinburgh.
In 2003 the 526 bedroom, £21m, Chancellor’s Court student residency project was successfully completed while 2006 saw the completion of the award winning St Vincent Place residential development at Silvermills, Edinburgh for AMA. This project has acted as a catalyst for the Practice into the Housing sector.
